We are heart broken to report that our beloved Foxy passed away yesterday.
She went to join her human mom Brenda, who left us only 1 week ago, after a prolonged battle with cancer.
It’s as if Foxy knew, and she wanted to be with her.
We are all devastated, but in our hearts know that they are now happy together in a different realm.
Foxy was about 15, a white shepherd mix, and she had been living at the dogger HQ for the past several months. Anyone boarding with us or using daycare would have met her. She did a great job being the “den mother”, and all the dogs loved and respected her. (And feared her a little because she could be a little crotchety and put the young ones in their place if they were misbehaving). Before that, Foxy lived on 17th street with her mom Brenda, who had rescued her from a turbulent puppyhood.
Surviving Foxy is her younger dog sister Becca, a Corgi. Becca has now been re-adopted by our daughter Aria, per previous owner Brenda’s wish. I (Basia) was able to take Becca to say goodbye to Brenda last week at the hospital. Foxy couldn’t make it because of her advanced age, but she was there in spirit. But now she is reunited with Brenda and we are glad of it. They were all magnificent souls and we loved them dearly.
